Demolition-2
  • Town of Avon – Former Townhall building, Avon, Colorado

  • Abatement of Asbestos Contaminated Materials (ACM) / Building Demolition

  • Project Value: $750K

Tasman was contracted to perform asbestos abatement and demolition for the Former Townhall building located in Avon Colorado. Exterior containments were conducted around the entire building to perform both roofing and foundation wall abatement. Significant effort was put into erecting containments using scaffolding along the exterior walls while keeping the asbestos containing material intact. Precise excavation was used to expose the foundation walls without damaging friable materials in preparation for abatement activities. Abatement was completed without any incidents.
Following the removal of all asbestos materials, Tasman’s construction crew was on site to complete the demolition and removal of the original Administration and Engineering wing of the facility. This effort included removal of all footings, concrete slabs, and selective trees. Approximately 4,000 sf of foundation sealant and 6,000 sf of asbestos containing roofing material were removed and safely transported off site for disposal.
