Soil Remediation Using Tasman’s Patented Chemical Oxidation Technology
Project Value: $650K
This project was in response to a release from a knockout drum at a facility flare. Due to the presence of high levels of volatile constituents, excavation and ex-situ chemical oxidation activities were conducted using Tasman’s patented treatment technology. Work was conducted in Level B personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating under a Tasman-developed site-specific health and safety plan, as well as a third-party air monitoring specialist. Peak organic compound concentrations in soil were detected at 0.716 mg/kg (benzene) and 18.9 mg/kg (TVPH and TEPH). Approximately 14,100 cubic yards of impacted soil were successfully treated to below Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) Table 910-1 regulatory standards. The project was granted closure. Groundwater was not encountered during excavation activities.
